Hi there:) Can anyone tell me, if there is a new DVD coming out soon? I tried to search this forum, but "dvd" doesn´t have enough letters to search:( thanks for any information:)

I'm sure there will be a new live DVD - it could even be after this new album that comes out next Spring. Because if they wait until they have one more album out, it would take until 2015, and that's 9 years after the Stockholm live. It depends of course how they see the chances on the market and whether they think it will be worth it; I guess a live DVD could backfire, making some people not so excited anymore to see them live.

This was discussed earlier. They have enough variety of songs to make a 70% different setlist to that of CRY, especially if they play 2-4 tracks off the newest album.

Here's some variety of songs they could easily play instead of the ones in CRY:

Deadnight Warrior
Bed Of Razors
Children Of Decadence
Mask Of Sanity
Kissing the Shadows
Chokehold
Trashed, Lost & Strungout (?)
Hellhounds On My Trail
Blooddrunk
One Day You Will Cry
Tie My Rope
New Song
New Song
New Song

Then there's those famous tracks like Downfall, IYF, ADK, Silent Night etc you need to have included..
There was a bit of remorse from Alexi that "they didn't play tight in CRY." For me the playing seemed tight.. but I'd like a few more interesting song choices and different passages.

I'm betting the next 'middle of albums' release will be a new live DVD in 2012 Christmas. That's just my wild guess and is not based on any kind of reality.

You missed the inevitable 5 songs from AYDY on that list.

What about the new Rockhouse Dvd?

Anyone heard anything new on that. Last thing I heard is it was being released this summer....which is now.

Wow why is Joonas even making predictions? You have absolutely nothing to base your conclusion off of and you're basically just talking out your ass when someone is asking for REAL FACTS not the Joonas CoB Fantasy Of The Day that you whack off to.

There aren't any plans in regards to a new dvd (that they've announced, who knows what they're thinking) so that's the answer to the question. Some bands release a dvd every couple of years (Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer; they releases dvds constantly) while some hardly do them at all or only do one. I'd like a new dvd but there's no point even thinking about it now because nothing has been announced or really even hinted at that I can think of; just fantasizing and throwing around ideas for a dvd that you have no idea when it could even be considered is a really useless thing to do, ideas or speculation about the approaching album that has been announced is one thing but this is just weird and pointless.

You sound like you're pretending you're in the band or associated closely with them by saying shit like "i'm sure there will be a new live dvd", "it could even come out after this album", "if they don't do it blah blah here's what they might do to blah blah blah"'; you're way too involved in just an un-nerving way. People who come here and aren't familiar with it would probably think you have something to base it off like you've heard a rumor or you're somehow associated with the band with the way you speak and phrase stuff; I'd say you should stop doing that for the sake of not starting rumors or creating a false sense of importance but it seems like you thrive off that in these cases.

I was gonna reply "No." to the original poster. Apparently I should have.

One thing a lot of you fucking don't get this is a discussion forum, not a news desc.

Some day there will be a new DVD. For the money.
If it's within a year after the new album, I can see 5 new songs getting on there. Why? Dunno, just guessing.

Well thanks for info:) I hoped that they will release some footage of blooddrunk tour or something, but appearently no.:(

As much as I want a new DVD i'm patient. CRY was a very good one compared to other bands dvd i've seen. So I trust them on that and i prefer waiting some years and have a dvd of good quality than something made in a rush.

but discussing assumptions and fandreams is pretty.. lame.

You're not discussing, you're tell people about your dreams, about what you think might happen (and you aint got nothing to substantiate these stories, it's just what you hope to happen and you back it up with conclusions you're drawing from the bands past).
Awesome!

Why are you guys ripping on Joonas so much? This aint offtopic where its full of tards, we actaully make conversations here and talk what might and what might not happen. If you don't like his post then why come and diss the dude for actaully trying to make it interesting for the others on this board?

Because that's why I'm here.

Because that's why I'm here.

Exactly :D

And yeah, I based my quess on a new live DVD for 2012 by the assumption that if it's only gonna be after the next album, it would be 9 years after CRY, from a band that plays 150 gigs every year, it would seem strange, that's all.

ffs guys dont be assholes. the guy has a question why not put it in a cobhc forum? and besides, this isnt only a discussion forum. its the children of bodom forum. any thing related to that band here is more than welcome and if u dont want to answer and be here, dont be here!

I seriously don't see why so much hatred towards them and their thing and also why people don't read what Joonas write before flaming. Yes, he tends to go bananas sometimes when it comes to giving ideas, but I think what he said this time is quite sensible. At the current pace it´d be ten years till the new DVD if they wait till not 7th but 8th album beeing out, and they need to fit the long waits somehow. We got the cover album this time around, so I think a live DVD or something of that kind is more than possible. Maybe not in the style of CRY (an actual full show and all), maybe different bits of different shows (3 songs from each festival from this summer and the next one or so) with extras and deleted scenes and don't know what else, or an actual live show DVD, but I don't see that idea weird at all. After all, SW and HB out, we get TW. FTR, HCD and AYDY out and we get CRY DVD and CD, why not another DVD after BD and the new one with a different setlist or different format? Sure, they'll do whatever fits for them, but I think that could be a great option, and they always carry a camera around anyways for crazy footage, so if they want to do it I reckon they'd have enough material to put on a decent DVD.

I'd prefer a full gig of course with a mostly revised track list. They could also do the flag change, so there's a period with the Follow the Reaper flag when they play 5 tracks back to back from that album, with blue lights going on. Light work definitely could be better, not just random lights everywhere that don't fit absolutely at all with the songs (plus have different tempo going on with the flashes than the song..) You have fucking green lights during HCDR songs and red lights during Follow the Reaper, what's up with that?.. They should correspond more with the characteristic album color, which are not picked by random choice. Mix in the new tracks from the new albums. I think that would be enough, it wouldn't require to do an outside venue this time or anything radically different like that. When you see them doing the exact same setlist and same passages over again you'll understand they're practicing for a new live DVD. COB probably haven't thought about a new live DVD much, they have enough stress and pressure with the new album now that seems to be sure as they've made pretty much zero comments on it, which doesn't exactly imply of confidence.

Would be cool if Children of Bodom performed at a few Sonisphere places like the big 4 did and release that as a DVD, but I doubt that'll happen :(

here's some speculation or wants of my own:
I think they'd actually do well releasing another dvd soon; they're big enough where people would most likely buy it and they've already done the bio dvd, now all they have to do is film a live show, add some touring antics, update with recent music videos and a couple bonus features and bam; they have a new dvd.

The bio on chaos ridden years I thought was lacking a bit so to see some more in depth stuff would be really cool along with touring nowadays, it's always fun to see dvds where you see what life is like on tour with a band and for me at least it makes me a bit more attached to their music. I didn't like Chimaira that much but after seeing all their dvds of how they made the albums, their philosophy on stuff and a bunch of live stuff I really got into them and now I'm a huge fan; something I would've never predicted before. Dvd's are huge selling tools also for attracting new fans; if my band was anywhere near big enough I'd make a dvd that addresses all the stuff I like that some bands miss (bands like Lamb Of God do the dvd thing really well).

The only thing my band is going to be doing is studio diaries for our new album because I personally love when bands do those so you can get a glimpse of the progress, how it's going, how it starts and ends etc. Plus Joonas can check it out to see the face of the guy who's always ripping on him for being CoB fanboy number #1 =P
