New full song by my band! Please comment!

It's called Where Angels Collide

We recorded it yesterday at my drummer's house using my and my guitarrist's recording equipment... I handled the bass playing, mixed and mastered it, but this is not the final track... I'm looking for opinions from you guys!

I'm thinking I want to make the volume definitely higher on the vocals and raise the volume on the lead melodic parts and maybe the solo a little..

so what do you guys think of it? it sucks? what would you change about the recording?

and most important, what do you think about the music? do we suck?

Sounds pretty good, I agree with you about the volume issues though. I think the music is okay, dosen't really do too much for me because tons of bands have already done it though. I don't like the intro/outro because that basic chord progression reminds me of some other song and is a little too major sounding. The clean vocals sound nervous and straining a little bit and kind of overly dramatic in some parts, but I think they could be mixed a little better too with more compression.

what do you think about the chorus/pre-chorus? there's a lot of stuff going on in there, do you think it's too... cluttered or something?

Yeah, I think the death vocals could come up a little bit. I know what you mean about it being cluttered but I think it fits since it's the chorus of the song. I'm a fan of throwing something extra like piano or violin in on a chorus to drive the part more, just lower the volumes of the "sweetening parts" if you think it's too cluttered maybe?
