New heavy song - Baritone content

Hi there,

First song I did with my Ibanez MMM1 Baritone (Bb tuning).

No vocals yet (first have to find one). And don't mind the little solo attempt. It will be redone by our lead guitarist.

So please give your opinion about the mix/tone/whatever. Thanks.

I used a toneport. Big Bottom & Uberschall + tubescreamer amp sims, quad tracked.

Yeah, sounds good. The sound overall is a bit Korn'ish due to the "flabby" snare, subkick and the grain on the guitar sound. But not in a bad way just to clarify.

Anyone thinks the bass guitar is too much? Or does it fit for the type of music?

Also Toneport, I tried the Ampeg VST but that didn't work for me. The toneport Ampeg sim produces a pritty decent tone, which worked well on this song.

(Bass guitar was a crappy Ibanez SDGR or something)

Well, I don't know about the other 60+ people who viewed this but the mix/tone was really good. The music was a bit repetitive but I'm sure vocals will help that. I really liked it overall. Nice tight low-end on the baritone too!

Drums are DFHS with replaced kick, snare and toms.

Kick = kick pro (found on this forum) boosted between 2-5 khz, also 100hz and 200hz boosted with large Q. Made a little cut on 50hz, 150hz and 250hz to make some room for the bass guitar. (bass is boosted at these frequencies)

Snare = panther snare (also from this forum)
