Just to tell you all about an exciting new project being run by grindcore.com. It's a new open wiki for all genres of music, initially concentrating on metal. It's called the MusicDatabase...just head on over to www.grindcore.com, and click on "Wiki" at the top.
The idea is to create a wiki that is edited and controlled by people who KNOW what they are talking about. The fact that on Wikipedia, they are currently discussing deleting the article for Boston band Post Mortem, through 'lack of notability' (wtf?) shows that is time the TRUE METAL FANS have their own place to inform themselves and others about the music they care about.
Obviously, the best place to start would be bands/labels who do not qualify as notable on Wikipedia, but who you know ARE important/popular in the genre.
If you can contribute, that would be great. Comments/suggestions also appreciated.
