new mix

New mix from an album I am nearly finished working on.
Real drums mixed with Slate kick and snare.
Warwick tubepath bass amp.
Mesa triple recto and recto cab miced Colin Richardson style with 2 mics on centre and edge of 2 different speakers.
Threw a sonnox limiter on it for now.
It is going to be pro mastered.

sound really smooth I like it! Do you always mix the hi hat that close to the center?

I always make sure the snare is dead centre on the overheads then pan everything else to where it is in the stereo field of the overheads.
Hats normally end up just left of centre and toms 10-2 o'clock.
