Old news man. That song is shit too. I really, really hope they can deliver the goods on this one. Morbid Angel, legendary band that they are, have their work cut out for them these days. Nile have been consistently releasing excellent albums for the last decade and that is the standard for present day American DM in my opinion. Last good Morbid Angel was Covenant and maybe Formulas. From Formulas onwards they lost the plot. Too much filler and aimless stupid instrumentals and no actual *songs*. Gimme any of the first 3 studio albums any day compared to the latter stuff, great songs and a genuinely eerie, mystical atmosphere about them.
Blasphemy!! Altars Of Madness is quite possibly the greatest Death Metal album of all time. No other MA album (bar Blessed Are The Sick) can match it's savagery, almost backwards riffing, blasting, insane over the top solos and genuine evilness. No offence man, but Gateways is a snoozefest. I dig the fact David Vincent is back in Morbid Angel. Bar none, the greatest Death Metal frontman of all time. The guy has immense stage presence and command and that voice. I've seen Morbid loads of times in all their different incarnations (Vincent, Tucker and when Jared Anderson R.I.P. filled in vox) and Vincent is the ultimate MA frontman.
I have been waiting for Morbid Angel to release a new album for what feels like an eternity. I think I'm going to need a change of underwear and possibly shorts. Maybe even socks.
