The clean vocal melody of "Burden" on Opeth's Watershed to me recalls Dan's killer "Understand me!.. Understand me!.." chorus on Unicorn's Emotional Wasteland.

Anyone else hear it?

I haven´t heard a second of it....It tooks me forever to listen to the last one too. Someone told me the new one is a little "harder" to get into..is that so??

People keep saying that, but I don't think it is. Although it is certainly a grower...very addictive.

Well, with me, that makes 3 in this thread who haven't heard it yet, at least. I haven't listened to the singles that are out yet either. I'm just going to wait until the album's in my hand.

Nice to hear that there is some Unicorn influence in there!

I haven't heard it either.
I like the experience of buying an album and listen to it all the way through, with artwork and lyrics in hand... and the anticipation before getting it. That seems to be uncommon these days, but I enjoy it, and I cherish the bands that make me feel excited for an upcoming album.

Apart from that, this year already has brought so many great new releases I can barely keep up listening to them and giving them all the attention they deserve! :)

Agreed. Although it is understandable that others want to hear it as soon as possible. Personally, I'd rather wait until it is in my hands, the same as you. I'd prefer to buy it locally, really. But nowhere around here stocks anything that I'd be interested in, for the most part. And it actually works out cheaper to order things online, and get them sent here from America, than it would be to buy them locally anyway. Which is ridiculous, really.

But yes, this year has been very good. Certainly a larger quantity of good albums coming out than there has been in the last few years.

I think it's their best album, the songs have the most unique identities I've ever heard from them I think. I feel it's one of the most accessible albums they've ever made also! And Mike sounds way different, his vocals have gotten a lot stronger and varied. The new guitarist and drummer are both awesome musicians and excellent new additions to the band!!
