New Opeth Video

I hate music videos with storylines...almost as bad as porn

the one good thing I do have to say about the video is that it didn't cut away from the guitar during the solo which some videos do (I hate that!)

Wow. I knew it was going to suck but I had no idea it would suck that much. First sign of MTV: the "The hands of Satan assembling his flock" part is cut out! Then half of the harsh vocals passage is cut out! Ok, MTV wouldn't show a 10-minute video, but still :(

And the video itself didn't make any sense. It didn't have anything to do with the song, and I don't see how that old man and his killer has anything to do with a chick with a snake drinking from a toilet.

Boo.

Oh no! Opeth did a video!! Fucking BASTARD sell out CUNTS!!!
The fact that the new album is brilliant doesn't matter of course.
And BTW Nile certainly aren't a crappy over-rated band. Your opinion is flawed MetalHeadMarc.

it's a terrible, terrible video. that's why it's getting flamed you vapid dolt

the song itself is hardly great either as it happens

It's pretty awful. But it's a metal video, so the chances of it not being terrible were pretty slim to begin with. Especially when you consider that Roadrunner is paying for it.

I'm going to check out the video now, but ecven if it sucks won't change my opinion of the band and the new album.

Opeth is the greatest band there is today that has JUST released one of the best albums of their career imo. EASILY on par with Still Life a MAYH....EASILY!

Damn, it's so annoying when people call them sellouts now. It's kinda like, what if Still Life was the album that went to Roadrunner? I mean, I guess that album may as well have been "trash" as well huh?

Fuck it I say. Ghost Reveries is everything Opeth and I think everyone knows it.

I'll check it out later. I bet that song probably was made better by the edit. It was way too long on the album, easily the worst heavy song there. Oh well. Still a very solid album overall, and I'm definitely seeing them live, the day after my birthday no less.

Worthless song, terrible video.

Opeth destroys any "mystique" they may have tried to conjure by showing their faces at all. Akerfeldt is not cut out appearance-wise to sing as a death vocalist, let alone playacting as he is in this trite little goof troop of con-jobs.
