New PC and 500$ for recording gear?

ok got a new PC. and all the free impulses and free plugins.

with 500$ what audio interface/daw/drum software/bass software/cables do i need to get started with recording?

How about something like a Presonus audiobox 22VSL at around 200$.

Then, you still have 300$ for audio software.

Reaper for DAW.
ezDrummer + some expansion packs. Right now, some of them are on sale at 39.99$.

The only thing you won't be able to buy is free spare time...
