New Saga - Sagacity Canadian Prog

"That'll be the day when a heavy metal forum talks about SAGA."

Please stay "on topic" for "a site called "Ultimate Metal.""

"t's just another dishwater rock band the fogies on this forum seem to hold in high regard."

"to me it's neither progressive nor exciting to listen to."

"I may be a metal head who's all into underground and independent music, but a topic about SAGA to me is like a topic about Survivor or Europe."

TDD: I think this is a good album - not necessarily a top album in their catalogue, but it's well written and some of the songs are truly great; "Vital Signs" and "On My Way" in particular (reminds me of something that A.C.T. would have done - I guess sometimes the masters become the imitators .. or however you say that haha). It's a little "darker" than most other of their discs though, and it doesn't have the great pop songs like they used to have. Not that it really matters because I like this side of Saga as well. It's definitely the better album over 20/20, which I never got into.
The real kicker for me is the bonus disc with the special edition - that's a really great concert and Sadler sounds amazing. His vocals are just as good as when he was young (and his German is kind of fun to listen to;-)). The new live versions of "Humble Stance", "Mouse In A Maze" and of course "On The Loose" are really awesome.

I guess I did end up talking about a non-metal album on a metal forum - I hope the true-metal-police won't use it against me ...

I have the live "disk"(ie I tunes download) from 2012(Play it again Sam)..wow..I have a lot of their recent live shows, and they bring it as good or better than bands half their age,I think their new drummer(think he was origionally in Helix) gived them something a little more prog metalish than the guys before it seems. This is a blind buy with the bonus disk,as their live recordings are top notch
wish they would play in the states (Ya hearing me Glenn??)
