New Shaman vs. New Angra

this is a touch call. I love both bands. I even liked Shaman's last disc with the new singer. For me....this is a great day to have 2 disc to really look forward to. I will take Angra over Shaman anyday though. I think though I like Aquaria more than Shaman and Angra's last 2 CD's though.

 Look at Glenn creating a battle between both bands...

The funniest thing is that both bands share the same drummer.

Glenn, have you heard the full albums yet? What's your take on them?

I have not heard either one. I would normally prefer Angra in a heartbeat. However, I'm going to reserve judgement until I hear the full Angra disc. I really prefer Edu's "Heros of the Sand" style vocals over what is on that track.

I've always liked both bands but am much more of an Angra fan. Kiko seals that EASY. That being said, I listened to both songs with an open mind and still liked the Angra better. I hated the opening of the Shaman song, but loved the rest of it. Wasn't very fond of the way Edu sings the verses of the Angra song, but loved the rest of it, and Kiko & Rafael's playing was amazing as always. I'll pickup both cd's though.

Never heard of them. Thanks for those Diabolik.

These bands I really need to get into more. I do have the first two Shaman, but besides that I have nothing from any of these. I would actually say though I prefer this Aquaria between the three.

Gotcha. I agree with you on the vocal style. I don't think what he's doing on Arising Thunder is bad, but it's not his best performance.

As for Shaman's new disc, I have high expectations for it. I find the new lineup to be extremely talented, especially Thiago Bianchi (vocals). His technique is amazing, and though he's no God (I mean, Andre Matos), he's still a great singer.

Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on both discs. Shaman's track is cool. The album has a very interesting concept too.

Plus, I hope your "Take Your Pick" statement means something for next year. One can dream, right?

Both are good, for sure. I like Angra more, overall, considering all releases, but the great thing is that we don't have to choose between these two albums - we can have both!!

if i had to choose which i like better based on those two songs I would pick Shaman. Though I think It'd be best for me to make my final decision based on my listen of the full albums.
