I kinda got what you were saying, kinda didn't, but that was probably because I was being constantly interrupted while watching it. It did make me want to go back to practicing Sanctus Ignis though, which I still am not able to play.

Half picking has made me a worse picker, lol. I never mastered shred picking and just used half picking cos there's less to worry about but now i'm practicing proper picking a lot more, so yer....

Yea, its sort of like economy picking in that if you ONLY work on that kind of picking and don't give any time to straight alternate, your alternate won't improve much. I like half picking for the sound it gives though...it adds a bit of aggression to the normal legato sound.

And I probably should have mentioned that I'm tuned down 1 whole step - DGCFAD low to high.
