@ gareth: no doubt. I have had no trouble finding sooooo many good samples to use around here. One of my fav snare samples is the dfh pearl snare. for some reason it finds its way into almost every snare I do hahaha. there is one on the d4 that is super sweet. It sounds really close to the end of heartache snare.

i was listening to a morbid angel album the other day (gateways to annihilation) and it sounded like they took the sounds from a drum brain haha

all the early dm is so dm4! its funny. I think there are enough good samples in that thing to get pretty much any drum sound.

and i never got the whole ezdrummer fad. I have used battery for years. The only thing i like about dfh is the snare its perfect for blending with a real snare.

no, wasnt comparing this to the d4 sample. just stating that i have used the d4 alot lately.

i think that your snare is a touch to dark for my taste. i prefer a bit more crack. also, i think the snare wires sounded a little clangy/ringy, maybe not evenly tightened or placed? that could be why the crack is missing?

all in all it sounds pretty good

what snare sound are you going for?

Anyway I tried to process the best snare samples I recorded sometimes ago...I'll record some new sample in the near future aiming for the sound I want from the start.
