After not doing anything musical for awhile, I met up with my keyboardist friend and we made this. It goes back and forth between metalcore and Creed (don't ask me why). I used Revalver, Studio Devil VBA, S2.0, and Slate 3.0.

Some cool riffs.. but I must admit im not a fan of the chorus (chorus is at 0:42 right ?), but im loving the pre-chorus thing at around 0:24

Sure, I just used the crunchy bass preset with the Stillwell Rocket compressor on the Power Bass preset with the threshold lowered until I got a gain reduction of 10db.

Dude, why don't you mic up your Rectifier? The Revalver settings are good, but I'm sure you can do better with a real amp. I hear digital distortion on this track. I like the songwriting. I think the "chorus" needs to be more powerful as well. I would get some heavy rung-out power chords in there and maybe some subtle octaves instead of that lead. I think the key change may be throwing me a bit as well, it sounds a tad juvenile compared to the rest of the track. Knock down the drum compression a little.

Thanks for the comments and tips. That major key chorus part doesn't seem to be very popular . It was a nice experiment at least. I would mic the dual rec, but I was just being lazy. Since I always have DIs of what I play, I always figure I can reamp later.
