And it rocks big time! Heaviest stuff Jeff Scott Soto recorded in a long while I think. Can't wait for the whole album!

This song was written by Gus G. and JSS.

Cool. Bout time he hooked up with a metal guitarist as talented as he is a vocalist. He's had some seriously hit and miss projects like Talisman, Eyes, Humanimal and some of his solo work, but this sounds promising. This could still end up a turd, but I'm intrigued. At the very least he stopped using those stupid letters for words crap, U(you) and 2(to) and 4(for). It's minor but that always bugged me. I still think the best song he ever recorded was Darkness Falls from Takara. It's one of his few tunes from that era that doesn't sound totally dated. I'll be looking for this release, Im guessing 2014?

Nope....all hits, no misses. Even his Boogie Knights stuff was fun.

In my opinion, JSS hasn't had anything worth listening to since Yngwie Malmsteen. Everything I've ever heard since just sucks, and from what I've heard of the new stuff...its worse than suck!Whats with the industrial tinges? Fucking awful! When did JSS become Marilyn Manson? I kept waiting for"...Be obscene, B E Obscene..."

Craptastic dreck from a waste of talent! Yeah!

somebody needs to get a Q tip out and clean their ears. While I don't like EVERY song JSS has done, Jeff has done a TON of QUALITY material be it solo, Talisman, Takara, Soul SirkUS, W.E.T., etc since the first 2 Yngwie albums and the Inspiration album as well.

Whatever. Soto likes to stretch his legs creatively, whether it's metal, Journey-style hard rock, R and B funk...he can sing anything. Hell, some of the man's biggest influences are listed as Freddie Mercury, Prince, Steve Perry, Terence Trent D'arby, and Sam Cooke. Kinda gives you a feel for what he likes. You don't like it? That's fine....plenty of us do. He's a brilliant singer.

Thanks, just cleaned out the ears last night before work, so, we got that covered! I'm familiar with everything except Soul SirkUS and I'm just not feeling it. Believe me when I say I've given his discs many chances, great talent, but everything that I've heard just falls short. Every time his name pops up I think to myself, maybe this is the great one, and it just doesn't do it for me.

I'll just continue to live in the past and spin "I Am A Viking" every now and again and remember "what could have been"

AMEN! JSS is absolutely my favorite singer out there, and while I don't blindly love everything he does, I believe he has a fabulous catalogue of albums, some of which are just as good as what he did with Yngwie. Loving what I've heard of the new album, and can't to get it when it's released!

This is way too much like Nickelback with a few modern keys thrown in as well. I like modern music but I just don't think this suits Jeff at all IMO. WET annihilates this kind of throw away modern rock.

After spending a couple of days with this I concur. This is by no means a bad record, but it does not seem natural or organic. I read a review saying this was a representation of his dark and angrier side. I feel the anger portions are forced and the lyrics tried far too hard to sound pissed off. It's a half-step away from bro metal like FFDeathpunch, and that really doesn't translate well with Jeff.

If I had a quarter for every time he yells "yeah, oh no, yeah yeah, or does a James Brown scream I'd have enough money to purchase another copy of the album. This is the first album I've purchased blindly in well over a year, so lesson learned. Not bad and may grow on me but didn't excite me either.

Well, Jeff has always liked to mix things up and throw musical curve balls. It's his schtick if you will.

Me? I don't think 'ITV' is terrible. But I do prefer his AOR-ish stuff ala W.E.T. Give it a few. He'll return to AOR.

I finally got a copy of "Inside The Vertigo", and I think it's an AMAZING disc. Probably my favorite Soto project (current) after Talisman's "Humanimal". On the other hand, I love everything he's done, so it's not a stretch that I love this outing too.
