New Suffocation Video

Sorry to interrupt your regular programming but this video is quite fun to watch. The best bit is when the crowd in the bar apes Frank Mullen's infamous hand movements. If you've seen the Suffos live you'll know what I'm talking about. That bit is plain fucking hilarious for me! The album is very solid by the way.

I'm not the biggest death metal fan in the world - especially with regards to whatever's new these days. I could probably count the "new" death metal bands that I like on two hands. But Suffocation is definitely one of the best long running bands in that entire scene, and while their new stuff will never ever be as good as the first couple of records, it's solid material that is always worth listening to. Definitely one of the most consistent bands in that entire genre.

Suffocation are still my favorite live death metal band, and in my top favorite death metal bands ever. I've seen them 7+ times (and will again when they come through KC very soon!), including their performance at MDF last year. They just kill it on the stage. The new album is very, very solid and already has some memorable tracks (great guitar work on it!).
