New throwdown is the tits!

i really liked their last one, Vendetta, which was produced and mixed by Zeuss. this one sound promising too.

Vendetta was definitely pretty good. I cant say I much liked them before that album though. Straightedge bothers me when it's getting crammed down your throat. :Puke:

yeah
"straight fuckin edge" - beatdown....
not so keen
mine would be
"stella fucking artois"

What the fuck?!

How can you guys like this? I mean, yeah, it rocks.

But why does it rock? Because it sounds exactly like Pantera.

It sounds like a Pantera cover band that wrote an original using parts from different Pantera songs.

The way this song is played, constructed, and the way the vocals are being sung makes it far too Pantera-like to be comfortable for me. I honestly had to double-check to make sure it wasn't Pantera. That these guys made this album and were happy with it sounding this much like Pantera worries me.

Damageplan didn't even sound this much like Pantera. Goddammit.

I hate this kind of copy-cat shit. I had to turn it off.

If I want to hear something that sounds like this, I'll put in Vulgar.

oh wow, you're totally right... i thought i liked it.. but i guess i was wrong. thanks for pointing that out. :waah:

so I can't post my opinion of it?

or is only agreement with what you think allowed here?

for the record, I asked how you guys can like it, i didn't tell anyone to not like it. it was a question.

again, I don't like it. I don't need to hear this re-treaded ground anymore than I need to hear Trivium running away with Metallica's style.

everyone who likes it: go listen to it on behringer equipment and enjoy all of the stolen ideas coming together in a fusion of art & technology!

P.S. I think (and have always thought) Haymaker and Vendetta kick a whole lot of ass.

those albums sound like THROWDOWN.

the new stuff doesn't sound like them, at all.

it doesn't even sound like they progressed their own style. instead they just jumped ship and started copying everything Pantera did.

i swear when the fast kick comes in, how can you NOT hear "TODAY I PLAY THE PART OF NON-PARENT!" !??!

anywayz...

NO you don't have enough post!

can't we all just get along

I was J/k by the way

well I'm trying to get 5,000 posts so I can be right sometimes and be allowed to say what i don't like and why but it takes a while so i guess i'll just agree with a lot of stuff until then.

it's been a while since i've heard a rodney king reference.
i'm not sure if i find it funny or too old/used to be funny.

i guess that means it is funny.

Haha, does Throwdown even have any original members left? I don't think so...Heck, from album to album the lineup seemed like it was different. To even call Throwdown remotely original is ironic as it's a revolving door band. Although, it seems to have slowed down a bit. I think the only difference from Vendetta to now is that they lost a bass player, added a guitar player, guitar player switched to bass, right?

The Pantera comments have been around since Vendetta as well. It just seems like they finally got the tempo up to the right speed this time around for it to stick.

For the record, I own Haymaker and Vendetta and like them both. I like the new stuff, too.

can't we all just get along :goggly:

can't we all just smoke a bong?

Yeah, copy cat bands. Kind of annoying but yeah, it does kind of rock. Because of the copy cat syndrome I'm less likely to be interested though.

They all choose Pantera (indeed a great band) to imitate when there are and were so many great bands out there to choose to copy from.
C'mon, how about some variety in the carbon copying.

pretty ironic question considering your reaction to others liking it.

again, i do like it. i need to hear good music and whether it's original or derivative is not as much a concern to me as whether it's good or bad. i never once stated that i disagreed with your assessment of it's originality. we also seem to agree on it's quality... as you said, "it rocks".

everyone who likes it: go listen to it on behringer equipment and enjoy all of the stolen ideas coming together in a fusion of art & technology!
that's attack number two... you're on fire today.

:Smokin:

not attacking anything. just found it nuts how Pantera-esque it was, and was surprised that no one had posted the same thoughts I was having. after my original post, you'll see I'm not the only one who thinks of it this way.

But that's just bullshit. Who cares? Just a difference of opinion about that.

:)

For the record: I've never heard a band other than Pantera pull of sounding like Pantera this well. And for any band, Pantera is probably one of the top 5 metal bands ever. They did a great job, but it just sounds so much like Pantera that I think it takes away from THROWDOWN, that's all.

:)

Bongloads are in order.
