New track "ETERNAL EMPIRE"

I liked it better on second listen. As I said in the other thread, I don't love it at the moment, but I think it will grow. I wouldn't have said it's chocabloc with hooks so you don't go away singing it after the first listen, but quite a lot of the last album was like that, it crept up on you slowly then a few listens later you realised you were being bludgeoned to death with an awesomehammer.

When I listened to Infected Nations and Demolition Now when they came out I was thoroughly unimpressed. I reckon that listening to songs without the album just doesn't work for me so I'm just going to put it back in its box and leave it till August.
Also I did listen and it seemed good. The solo stuck out for being relatively simple. And thats only one really half arsed listen.

It's probably because it's just the one track as opposed to the whole album - albums should be listened to from start to finish.

Not to mention that it's nowhere near as technical/progressive as a lot of the stuff on Infected Nations, which feels like a slight step backwards... but yeah. I need repeated listens to truely suss it.

I love it. the first listen I couldn't even understand what I heard, so on the second listen I loved it.
i feel like the rest of it will be like infected nations where i'll have to listen to it a few times to love it.

I've said already that I get what Dave is saying about it being weird, but I like it a lot. Matt's voice is really coming along, and even though the actual riffs aren't as complicated as IN, the arrangements are much more complex. I almost feel like I hear some Nevermore or Alice in chains in those vocal harmonies.

you know what... i'm actually quite curious for what MetallicSlayerDeth's interpretation of the riff at 1:10 looks like in words

Okay, I tried, I really did.............. I caved after ten minutes of seeing this thread though.

Listened to it three times, and I came to this conclusion : It gets better everytime you listen to it. The vocals are kinda weird near the beginning, but 4:00 onwards is fantastic!

Now, as a self-proclaimed "Evile Fan For Life", (which I am proclaiming right now  ), I want to say that this song is perfect, and that I love it, but I don't think I can come to that conclusion yet and think that the band can do better. I have a feeling that the album will probably have a lot of better songs than this one though.

Still awesome though.
