new track from Job for a cowboy

wow.... other than some of the generic deathcore vox and the slightly average arrangement, I really dig the mix and the riffs.

Lamb of God meets decapitated in a nutshell.

I'm surprised.

Dan, where do you hear the deathcore vox? :O I truly think he has a really fuckin powerful death metal voice... their first EP "Doom" had "bree brees" and inhales, but this is just fuckin straightforward

yeh, i'm diggin' on their new stuff. less "average" than the normal deathcore-ish stuff. kinda like deathcore + death metal. kinda like whitechapel/carnifex/etc but the songs are bit more dynamic riffwise. not just a "brutal" stuff the entire time, which takes away from the agressiveness.

JFAC has been a band that I've had problems getting into - trust me, I've tried several times. While technically very gifted as musicians, I find their music to be just to unmelodious - the production is great, but generally it sounds like a great big noise to me. I end up sonically exhausted after a few songs each time I attempt to listen to them which is a shame given their skills.

not that often, just some of the lower growls. I like the higher stuff. I guess it's knowing what they used to sound like that influences my thoughts on that. I always try to judge a band totally objectively (I even admit to liking some trivium songs etc), but you're always going to be influenced by what you know about a band.

But I just went through to my flatmate and said "dude, you'll never guess who's song I actually quite like", so make of that what you will. :)
