I find it interesting that they've decided to pretty much do away with the screamed/growled vocals and just go for the clean ones- could be the move that sees their popularity go through the roof.

As I've said elsewhere, I find Trivium to be talented musicians, but average from a songwriting perspective- although I can definitely see potential there. I wasn't that impressed with 'em when I caught the band live, but would probably check 'em out if they do in fact make it here early next year, as has bene heavly rumoured.

I think they have better stuff, and would assume this is more a once off tribute song to old school metal rather than a new direction, but who knows.

I agree that they have great potential and are skilled musos, but their songwriting isn't quite there yet.

I've only heard their demo and their first album, but I like them a lot. I'll be seeing them open for Maiden in London. Might have to get the rest of their stuff.

I've got Ascendancy on rockin' Indonesian cassette, and reckon it's pretty fucking good. Not a huge fan of the vocals either though, as they're neither here nor there.

Hmm, I'd be suprised if they do away with all the screaming... I don't mind screaming usually, but the screaming on the first two albums sucks, I can't stand it at all. Bleh.

The new song isn't too shabby - should be interesting....
