NEPENTHE , NECROPOLIS (He Answers Them With Death) , TO CROWN THEM WITH HALOS Parts 1 & 2 , THE TORTURE’S OF THE DAMNED, THE BLACK LIGHT BACCHANALIA (The Age That Is To Come) and ETERNAL REGRET.
It will be a long album...close to 80 minutes...The album (to be really brief), concerns the reversal of all things...Once conquered by invading cultures, older Pagan deities become the demons…of the new religion. The Black Light Bacchanalia is a reversal of the sacred sexual customs, and the final desecration of the "Goddess Principle", switching from matrilineal descent to patrilineal descent, with the rise of the idea of the Mountain-Fire God.... And it also has to do with ancient fears such as the fear of the sun not rising...Lyrically it is a kind of continuation of the story I told on the last album...Musically it is quite something else...”

From what I've heard...all of them.

The concept sounds really fucking awesome. I'm really stoked for this.

Invictus is their " heaviest " but not quite their best (still amazing!)

Their best is The House of Atreus Act I imo

Get everything from The Marriage of Heaven and Hell Part I onward (and make sure to grab Hymns to Victory even though it is a compilation because it has their best song on it in The Burning of Rome (Cry for Pompeii)

They used to play really fucking cheesy glam metal early on so everything from the s/t to Life Among the Ruins is to be listened to only if you don't mind that stuff
Some other songs of theirs (even though The Burning of Rome came from one of them oddly.)

House of Atreus Acts I and II are their best releases, followed almost imperceivably closely by The Marriage of Heaven and Hell albums (in my opinion).

David DeFeis is the fuckin' man. One of the best power metal bands, and one of the few bands who seem to have gotten better with age.

Virgin Steele is one of those bands that I have never checked out as much as I should have. I do own "house of atreus act 2" and I love it but for some reason never checked out the rest.
