It is my belief that when people start telling you to gtfo, that means you need to stay more than ever. That's when the entertainment starts, when you can really rile the haters up enough to provoke them. People start getting mad and upset and the internet hate flows freely. There's pissing, there's moaning, there are calls of banishment, people's character and beliefs come into play, there's a general overall sense of smug internet superiority, you start to realize who really cares, who takes things too seriously and at the end of the day all of these things combine together for one big superLOL that absolutely justifies to myself why I like hanging out on message boards.
