I just want them to release whatever it is they decide... they haven't failed us in the past, so I trust their judgement. Any of the options would be cool (except a double live album... they already did that, and not very long ago).

I voted for the second option, normal with an epic. I don't think a double concept would be a good idea at all because it wouldn't translate to a 2 cd format very well... i mean, it sucks enough in LoTR getting up in the middle of a movie to change discs... same thing with a double concpt album. As for double albums, that has the same problem, and the focus seems to always fall more on one disc than the other regardless of quality... one will almost always get overlooked. And they just put out a live album... i don't want them to turn Maiden on us... they need to release a few more albums before they do another live album, especially if they aren't going to change up the setlist.

I didn't vote. I believe that Symphony X's next album WILL be good. Why shouldn't it be? I don't care what format they use for the album.

I guess my thoughts on this are kinda like going to a restaurant you really like and saying "Surprise me."

I agree that this poll is somewhat pointless, what I am certain of is that there has to best an epic (at least ten minutes) on it. This one is not optional!

I want to see another live album, they only have 1 (right?) and I think they have a good "live" sound. 2 cds should cover all of the great symphony x songs i want to hear

I like the format they had on Odyssey. A couple good short songs like Inferno, Wicked, The Turning, then the epic, and then a few songs in between epic and normal like Awakenings and Accolade II

I wouldn't mind seeing a double cd with normal songs on first, epic on second but then it does seem kinda weird to switch cds.

Other than that I want to see an album like Odyssey with some short songs, some long songs, and an epic.

I voted for the double concept album, but that's only because I would love to get 2 CD's worth of music from the guys in 1 shot. However, to be realistic I would love them to do another concept album. I think "V" was an absolute masterpiece and would love to see their interpretation of another cool story. Actually, I think it would be cool if they developed their own story this time. That would be a progression for them in terms of writing music. Hell, if King Diamond can do it time after time, then SyX can do it and far better!



Come on guys, give us a long (full CD) concept album based on an "original concept" with a wide range of styles and moods and at least one 15 minute long song (ala "Rediscovery I & II).

I voted for normal with an epic, since that does kinda seem to be their norm and I'm used to it. But even though I don't like concept albums much (V was an exception) I really like scanner's idea of them doing an original story.
