Nightrage - A New Disease Is Born

The word "Nightrage" seems to be synnonymous with "awesome" as A New Disease Is Born continues the band's ongoing record of achievement. They would be on the melo-death "honors list" if there was one. Not only have Nightrage released some very top notch melo-death material, but the vocalist Jimmie Strimell has made an appearance on Dragonland's Astronomy, and the guitarists have made many appearances on various albums. Naturally, it's hard to hate a band with such musical prowess - so much in fact, that they opt to spread it widely for the good of other projects as well!
Spiral starts the binge off right with fast riffs and palm-muted interjections, blastbeats, and the unbridled intensity of vocalist Strimell's battle cries. The song culminates in an incredibly melodic pulse of chords with an acoustic guitar accompaniment. Showcasing the opposite side of the spectrum, Strimell lays down soaring clean vocals that are characteristically a polar opposite from the low growls in all respects, which really leads to a diverse listening experience with plenty of excitement!
Reconcile begins with a bright, acoustic performance of broken chords mixed with clean vocals that sounds very beautiful, and a bit reminiscent of sections of Into Eternity's last album. The songwriting is one touch Iron Maiden, a bit of Children of Bodom, but mostly Nightrage's own unique ability. They see the line, and cross it whereas bands like Soilwork and In Flames do not.
Most bands will begin to lose momentum and falter at the end of the album as it begins to seem like filler.... Nightrage maintain a consistent level of strength all the way until the end, and successfully incorporate fresh ideas, riffs, and solos that increase the inherent replay value found on A New Disease Is Born.
