Nightsteel have announced their self-titled debut album, set for global release on April 11 via Cosmic Fire Records. New, high-energy track, “Eternal Flight” featuring singer Craig Cairns (Tailgunner, ex-Induction) is out now on all digital platforms.
Cairns comments on the new single: “It has been great to work on the Nightsteel project, the songs are full of power and heavy metal, just as they should be. My favourite track to sing has to be ‘Eternal Fight’ the vocals were a joy to record and the guitar work on that song really stands out. Nightsteel is the eponymous debut album from heavy/power metallers Nightsteel, who are ready to take the music world by storm. Their combination of heavy riffs, amazing solos, and catchy melodies makes their music absolutely captivating. It’s the perfect album to take you back to the days when metal was loud and heavy.
Nightsteel is a band-new Greek metal band that embodies the spirit of classic ‘80s metal, reviving the magic of the genre in a very special way.
It all started back in 2022 with an idea that songwriter & bassist Bill Sam had. While working on some old demo songs along with new ones, he asked his friend and drummer Mike Foudotos to join the band and take the project to the next level.
After working with some local vocalists, Bill decided to go a step further and work with some of the most notable and up-and-coming vocalists in the metal scene. He first contacted Travis Wills (Crimson Glory, Infidel Rising), who was blown away by the songs and agreed to sing on the album. Unfortunately, due to Travis’ busy recording and touring schedule, he wasn’t able to finish all of the songs, so Bill also enlisted Craig Cairns (Tailgunner, ex-Induction), Rob Lundgren (Reveal, Mystery Moon), and Mauro Elias to sing on the remaining songs.
In addition, the virtuoso guitar player Igor Paspalj (Guitarist of the Year 2020 by Guitar World and Guitar Player magazines), agreed to play solos on two songs. The lineup was completed with Jasmin C. on guitars and keys.
Travis Wills says on the album: “When Bill approached me and showed me the Nightsteel dog, I was taken back, and thought, man this is really good. Once I got into the studio and started laying vocals, I could see the songs come to life. After every song was done, I thought, this is a hit… excellent writing and melodies. The music and playing is very well executed. I am glad that he reached out to me to be a part of his journey, a very fun journey. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do!”
Igor Paspalj states: “It was my pleasure to collaborate and contribute with my guitar solos on these 2 songs. It was great experience, especially because of that particular the style of music which I’ve grow up to. Both songs had very nice chord progressions which allowed me to express myself, and hopefully contribute to them in a good way!”
Mauro Elias notes: “Honestly I had a blast recording your songs! Every session was fun, great music, great vibes, and just an all-around metal experience. It was awesome bringing these amazing songs to life!”
Mastermind & songwriter Bill shares: “I have been fortunate to work with a number of talented musicians who have helped me bring my musical vision to life. The journey was long with many challenges, but I had a really good time bringing these songs to life! I hope you enjoy the songs as much as we enjoyed recording them! Nightsteel is here to stay… Stay Metal!”
