Cool about Nightwish, but uhh.. that guy has his taste up his ass. Did you take a good look at his list? Dimmu Borgir for number one? Really? Megadeth for number two? heh. Ok Candlemass, i can more or less give him that (though if you are aware of doom, how can you not register Novembers Doom? on your list. Hell, they are even an american band) and Machine Head as well. I may think there are better, but they are arguable choices, so i will leave them be. But then Arch Enemy comes in at 6 on a list that includes Dimmu and the new Megadeth? I guess there is no accounting for taste.

Man, a pop culture site or not.. these people are such noobs. Dan Marsicano includes the outstanding Porcupine Tree album on his list, but follows it up by saying that he only just heard of them this year. It's time to wake up and look deeper than the radio my friend.

Anyway, their somewhat dubious taste aside, it's still good to see Nightwish getting the recognition they deserve.

What's wrong with Megadeth and Arch Enemy being on the list? Last time I checked, they were both kick ass metal bands. As for Porcupine Tree, I haven't listened to them yet...does that make me a n00b? No, it just makes them a band that I haven't gotten around to yet.

As for Megadeth being on the list that is awesome because their album is their strongest in years (save the abysmal rework of A Tout Le Monde), and Arch Enemy's album is angry as all get out.

But yay! Nightwish made a list! I think this guy deserves a beer and pleny of it!

Sorry if i wasn't quite clear. There is nothing wrong with Arch Enemy being on the list. There is something wrong with it only being number 6 heh. It deserves to be much higher. As for Megadeth.. well, it's a matter of opinion i guess, but let's just say my opinion isn't favorable. Megadeth WAS a kick ass band. For me, their best album in recent years was "The System Has Failed". But again, it's all opinion, and you'll see my commentary in more detail when my list (which i take seriously) is ready.

As for Porcupine Tree, if you were to ever get around to it, 2007 would be a great time to start. Fear of a Blank Planet is an amazing album. As for only first getting to them, see, the trick is, you aren't a professional reviewer for what appears to be a large site. You would expect them to be on the ball.
