Bought it in a mall in Kouvola, Finland. Had it pre-ordered but couldn't pass up the opportunity to have it "RIGHT AWAY!" Having been at the concert, it really brought up beautiful and emotional memories. I think the DVD is very well done, though slicked up a bit, which causes it to lose a little of that special feeling you get at the show. They cut most of Marco's talking in between the songs which was a bit of a bummer, though he spoke in Finnish, of course. The good part is that they also cleaned up Tuomas' bungling (or was it his keyboard?) of the solo in Over the Hills and, thankfully, took out the feedback at the beginning of John Two-Hawks' solo. The visual effects, pyros, video, lighting, etc. are very well represented. They played a major role in the show's presentation.
I must say, for any Nightwish fan this is a MUST Have. The set list is comprehensive and well mixed, though they don't play much from the first two, as has been their pattern over the last few years. Tarja looks gorgeous in all the different outfits and sings beautifully, though not without some cute pronunciation errors. Tuomas looks extremely emotional though out the entire show and put on a hell of a performance, despite the one mistake which was eliminated.
Try to focus on Jukka whenever they give him some close ups. He was amazing through out the entire performance and I could watch a whole DVD of just him performing.
Too bad the shots of him are quick and far between. The other guys were totally into it as well and the whole performance has a very emotional and "together" feeling to it, which is surprising considering most of them knew what was coming after the show.
For me, the inclusion of John Two-Hawks alone is worth the price of the DVD. He was amazing and very well received by the mostly Finnish audience. I haven't seen the documentary yet, but apparently there's some fun stuff and some sad stuff worth seeing in that as well.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let me know what you think.
