Finnish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH were honored in the "Metal Album Of The Year" and "Export Of The Year" categories at this year's Emma Gaala (Finnish Grammy equivalent), which was held on March 11 in Espoo, Finland. Said the band: "We, unfortunately, couldn't receive the awards personally for we are on tour in North America. But the happy news reached us and we will raise a glass after our show [on March 12 in Anaheim, California]!" NIGHTWISH has won 14 Emma awards in total, which is the largest number of awards given to an artist in the history of Emma Gaala. NIGHTWISH's 26-date headlining tour of North America launched in Sayreville, New Jersey on February 19, and is hitting six Canadian cities plus Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and New Orleans, then closing out in Tampa, Florida on March 23. Support on the tour is coming from Finnish melodic metallers SONATA ARCTICA and Dutch symphonic metallers DELAIN. NIGHTWISH recently released a strictly limited (no reprints!) special tour edition of its current album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". The tour edition comes with a bonus DVD of live performances, documentary footage and promo videos as well as a huge photo gallery.
