NIN are godly

Broken and Spiral are great.

Those albums feel more ametuerish to me. They have great energy and passion, but albums like the fragile and with teeth are just so much more, how do I put this, artistically mature? classier? I don't know the right word. Mabye graceful. TDS was my all time favorite album during my 13ish year old tweenage angst stage. Broken is great for whenever I just want some banging good anger.

I used to be a huge fan of them. I still appreciate Trent Reznor's musical skill, and it takes some skill to be depressed for so long as well. Great lyricist as well. Hell, I think I'm going to listen to some now.

I enjoyed The Fragile but felt that songwise and emotion wise it just doesn't stack up to Broken or Spiral. With Teeth just flat out bored me. Saw them on the With Teeth tour though, excellent show.

To each his own, I suppose. I really liked with teeth though. I hated it at first because it was so simple, but by now I see the simplicity as a virtue. Great pop shouldn't be complex. Music like that just has to go straight for the emotions and hooks. I find with teeth to be NIN's most flawless album. As for the fragile, some songs aren't that great, I must admit. Ripe (with decay), we're in this together now, the wretched, pilgrimage, the way out is through, and many more absolute classics are here though. WHen I have the time to listen to the whole thing, it is a very rewarding experiance.

NIN are ok from a musical standpoint. Although, I get tired of music being politicized. Just because you are in a band, does not mean I want your political opinion.
