 Not that I expected much.

I think it is an improvement over their last one. More fancy guitar work. Not as dumbed down. Angela's vocals are WAAAAAAAAYYYY better. The songs just haven't caught on with me yet, though. I'd say 7/10 at this point. Nothing special. The new Nevermore certainly KILLS it.

this band is doomed to go down in the flames of mediocrity like The Haunted ...

none of their shit is essential. Why buy this band's crap when they are simply a third rate Carcass?

This is one of those bands where I can recognize that I enjoy them, but never listen to them. Ever.

i was actually hoping they'd redeem themselves a little with this one but oh well, it was a long shot anyway. i'll reserve final judgment until i hear it of course, but i get the feeling i'm gonna be holding on to my copy of wages of sin for a while.

also, and let the flames commence, imo gossow>liiva. i don't dig the hardcore-style barking so much.

I honestly don't mind Angela.... neither did I have any probs with Liiva.

Edit: I ordered the new AE along with the new Nevermore 2 days ago... I'll give my judgement after receiving them. But I'm sure the new nevermore kills the new AE.

Angela looks like a male on their latest video. (Go to Yahoo! music video thing to see it.)

To me, the tracks from "Doomsday Machine" seem like leftovers from the "Anthems" sessions.

Yeah, it's all very much in the same ballpark, although that Nemesis song is a bit more adventurous I'd say.

Not quite there yet. They still sound more metal than they do lolcore. There's no doubting that the Ammott brothers are demon guitar wizards. It's pretty impressive to listen to their chops.

Flame? More like applaud. Gossow destroys Livva. He was their weakest link. It's with good reason that Wages of Sin is their best release.

WITH ALL THAT SAID, I never listen to Arch Enemy anymore anyway. :loco:
