It's interesting... although I intended the "NO VOTE" solely as a tool to simplify the tallying process, the sheer volume of NO VOTEs has made it quite clear that:

1. RC's tastes, as a collective, are quite eclectic
2. There's simply no way to keep up with the sheer volume of releases that the internet affords us access to

While neither observation is hardly breaking news, I would say it's probably more of the latter. And to a certain extant, I don't think that's a good thing. I think too many people are always on the hunt for the next "Autumn Aurora", and never take the time to really appreciate the music already in their collection. I'm as guilty of this as anyone.

I would imagine a great number of us would find some real gems among our NO VOTEs. I for one fully intend to check out the following:

Warning - Watching From a Distance
Lost Horizon - Awakening the World
Neurosis - A Sun That Never Sets
Repugnant - Epitome Of Darkness
Sólstafir - Masterpiece of Bitterness
Nokturnal Mortum - Weltanschauung
Pagan Altar - Lords of Hypocrisy

By the way, I only used "No Vote" when I didn't know either of the albums. I think some people might have used "No Vote" when they couldn't decide between two albums they like equally. Otherwise known as a 'cop out' vote. :loco:

yeah, I used the "NO VOTE" when I really couldn't choose between two albums, but there were a couple of instances where I hadn't heard either album

When I had trouble choosing between ablums, I just went with the one that evoked a stronger emotional response just from reading the title.

The only one that gave me trouble was SLOUGH FEG vs. PRIMORDIAL.

Meaning, if you like two albums equally, suck it up and vote for one. Flip a coin if need be, but make a goddamn decision!!!

What do you folks think this is, Gore vs Bush? :loco:

I used it when I didn't know either one. There may have also been 1 or 2 that I knew one and didn't like it, but I don't recall any specifically. You guys listen to a lot of stuff I've never heard of, and honestly, most likely wouldn't enjoy. There was a serious lack of weirdass stuff and technical goodness in that list :D Or at least the ones I've heard.
