It's interesting... although I intended the "NO VOTE" solely as a tool to simplify the tallying process, the sheer volume of NO VOTEs has made it quite clear that:
1. RC's tastes, as a collective, are quite eclectic
2. There's simply no way to keep up with the sheer volume of releases that the internet affords us access to
While neither observation is hardly breaking news, I would say it's probably more of the latter. And to a certain extant, I don't think that's a good thing. I think too many people are always on the hunt for the next "Autumn Aurora", and never take the time to really appreciate the music already in their collection. I'm as guilty of this as anyone.
I would imagine a great number of us would find some real gems among our NO VOTEs. I for one fully intend to check out the following:
Warning - Watching From a Distance
Lost Horizon - Awakening the World
Neurosis - A Sun That Never Sets
Repugnant - Epitome Of Darkness
Sólstafir - Masterpiece of Bitterness
Nokturnal Mortum - Weltanschauung
Pagan Altar - Lords of Hypocrisy
Zod
