NONPOINT's tenth album, "X", is tentatively due on August 24 via Spinefarm Records. The follow-up to 2016's "The Poison Red" was produced by Fred Archambault, who has previously worked with ATREYU and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, among others. Speaking to Z97.5's "Morning Mayhem" radio show, NONPOINT vocalist Elias Soriano stated about the band's upcoming disc (hear audio below): "The album's aggressive, and the new songs that we've been playing live are extremely aggressive and the fans have really taken to all the teasers. We're giving people what we believe is a record that we can play it from front to back and really start turning some heads, because we've really, internally, taken it to another level and really challenged ourselves. We had a great and amazing producer working behind the board with us, Fred Archambault. And just playing it for fans and playing it for our inner circle, people are floored by the direction that we've [taken]." Soriano told the "SixX Strings" podcast that he "felt like things weren't being rushed" during the recording process with Archambault. "He wanted to entertain the idea not only because it was an idea coming from one of the guys in the band, but he wanted to see what the hell it would sound like, whether or not it was cool," he said. "If we even doubted it for a second, he dug in deeper and goes, 'Well, maybe it's not the right tone. Let's try this.' It seemed like we weren't going to have enough time, but we actually finished a day early. It just really felt different this time, and it shows in the final product. I haven't been prouder of a record." NONPOINT is currently on the road in North America with BUTCHER BABIES on the "Kings & Queens" tour. Photo by Tammy Vega
