Nordstrom is mixing the new JFAC.

What's some good Nordstrom productions? I've been seriously let down by most of the work I've heard of his (considering the reverence many have for him, anyway).

The last AE CD was atrocious. Rise of the Tyrant would have easily been the best sounding as well as best written Angela era Arch Enemy CD had it been done by someone else (haha, not naming names) ;)

Andy's mix on the live DVD for that CD IMO blows away the actual CD.

I love the sound of Dimmu's "In Sorte Diaboli" personally! (though it's somewhat maligned, mostly cuz of the mastering I think)

+1 to the Dimmu album, I love that production. I think it comes down to preference. I personally really like the production the last AE record. It was more raw than their previous efforts which was a breath of fresh air to me.

I like both Andy and Frederick. I am a fan of both styles and like both of their work for different reasons. With that said, I'm starting to gravitate away from the super-polished productions. While I do still dig a lot of them, as they provide instant gratification for me, I can equally appreciate something with a raw feel to it.

Yeah, even though I wouldn't call myself a fan, I still think JFAC is a good death metal band. No, they are not the most original, but other than that, it's still good for what it is, extreme metal.

Im looking forward to it. I think the production is or at least has the potential to be unreal. IMO I thought Genesis was killer, so if they step it up its gonna destroy. Im not a metal eletist, I like most of any music thats pissed off.

Clayman & Sweet Vengeance.

Haven't heard him do anything of that caliber since, unless you are digging the uber-sterile ITB productions he's been doing lately.

You can say the same thing for every genre you don't like: brutal, death, black, thrash, pop, dance, techno...it's always the same. If you don't like, don't listen.

Yeah, it's not like JFAC was the only band with "cookie monster" vocals and distorted guitars... at least they don't use those awfull pig vocals! (not anymore that is)

And like I mentioned before, I am not a huge fan, but I do think that Genesis was a good death metal album. It just seems trendy to hate them for some reason.

I think so many people don't like them because they seemed to kick-start the pig squeal trend, and also spawned a legion of local level copycat bands that were incredibly annoying. It has nothing to do with their music as far as I can tell. I dig Genesis, and even Doom when im in the right mood.
