The Norwegian black metal band, Perished, have finished the recording of their new album that will be released on Displeased Records later this year. The band has two titles to choose between at the moment; Seid or Blot.
The recording took place at Skansen Lydstudio, where all their previous recordings have taken place. They are confident that this time they have got the sound they were looking for.
Perished feel they went into the wrong direction with Grim(2000) and want to go back to the Kark(1998) sound. Some songs have synth, acoustic guitars and an accordion, while other songs will still be very cold, with only guitas, bass and drums.
Bassist Bruthor thinks that the vocals might be a bit more interesting this time around. Together with the black metal screams, there will be more variation with some deep growls. The band has chosen not to go back to singing in Norwegian and some of the lyrics that were written for this album had to be translated from Norwegian.
The front side of the cover is almost done, with a Nordic style frame + the Perished logo. Underneath the frame there will be a viking picture and the albums name at the bottom. Bruthor is very pleased with the result, but underlines that the cover might change as the frame the band has chosen is copyrighted.
