Not even close to metal but would love some opinions!

Recorded this female fronted Rock/R'n'B band the other day (don't let that put you off!). Drums are all natural for the first time ever and this is also the first time I've ever really attempted anything in a genre that isn't metal!

is the guitar in mono down the center for the whole song? maybe widen it just a touch. but i do like the centered mono thing, very jazz

Thanks guys! I don't think the band has a name, I just did it for my guitarist's girlfriend (vocalist). And yes the guitar is just centered, there's only one guitarist and the whole band was recorded as one live take. No editing or anything, it's all just exactly as they played it. There are other takes but the guitarist pretty much plays lead like 90% of the way through so it was pretty different for every take. I totally agree on the too much room thing. I think it's mostly the snare drum, it's also a little too loud and a tiny bit too aggressive sounding for this music, might back off on the compression a little.

i actually like the snare because its different for the genre. different is good if u ask me

First of all: nice mix and nice performance!
I think there's too much compression on the vocals for this genre..I'd go for a smoother vocal sound. Also in the chorus the drums sound maybe a bit (vocals as well) too compressed. But maybe that's the way you want them...just my opinion.

yea i think i agree with that, but hey thats what happens when you mix metal all day right? haha

but yea maybe use a vocal rider instead

Sounds great! Vocals may sound a tad too aggressive and some harmonies might've been too loud on some parts to me but this is nitpicking. I wouldn't change anything else though.
