Now playing- Down III over the under

Listening now as well. First time through. So far it sounds like...... Down. And that fucking rules!

Y'know Smithers, I don't believe in suicide; but if you'd be willing to try it might cheer me up.

Anyhoo, I still posit Phil as being a conceited fuck-up. That aside, I look forward to hearing this.

I disagree about Phil.

I just finished the album. It's badass... good ol fashioned Down. Things I noticed right off the bat is Rex's bass playing has seemed to get a million times better, there's a lot of really cool mellow tasty guitar licks going on, and the last song could potentially end up being the 2nd greatest Down song ever (nothing will ever beat Stone the Crow).

I'll listen more tonight while I fire off some smoke.

considering my smoking buddy back home was an annoying spaz who worshipped redneck metal bands, i developed an aversion to Down because of how much he talked about them (and he had no short term memory, so he couldn't remember talking about them ... every single day) but if the cd really is that good, i'm thinking of picking it up now...

listened it yesterday, it's a really good album, much better than the second one (NOLA is the ALBUM), but it's a pity that phil lost his voice.
but that riffs, whoa...
and the song called pillamyd is a little bit similar than creeping death, khm, khm...

my favorite now is Beneath The Tides, this song has everything what is beautiful in this style and it has some Led Zeppelin influence too

can't wait the normal cd, this 128 kbps kills me.

I listened to it again last night and couldn't stop thinking how Phil almost sounds like Chris Cornell at times. Crazy. I think Phil's singing way better on this one than II.

There was that one track in II where he showed he still had it, though.. "The Seed" I think it was? There was that high note that he hits fantastically, in a rather clear voice.
