Woke up this morning hungover and with half of my right thumb numb. It's been like 5 hours and it's still numb. Anyone ever have this happen? Carpel tunnel? Bad circulation?
I had this in my foot a while ago, from where I had been resting my foot on my chair whilst playing guitar, had it for a few days, then it went.
It's probably a circulation thing.
Could possibly be some sort of nerve damage. I severed the tendon and some nevers in my thumb and since then the right half of it has been numb. Considering that you didn't cut yourself if it is something to do with nerves I'm sure you'll recover better than I have
Now that I think of it, a little while ago I was noticing weird stinging/pins and needles in that area. =/ But yeah, didnt hurt myself at all. Spent like 6.5 hours sanding rust and pant off machine parts at work yesterday, was fine. got drunk, woke up hungover and numb. Hopefully it just goes away....
Well, the numbness went away but I must have some sort of nerve damage or pinching going on. If I rub or press the little bump/bone in my wrist I get pins and needles and some pain in the area. Also I notice sometimes when I headbang I get a similar sensation in my neck.
Sounds like a pinch ... do some petrucci wrist stretches you should be fine. The pinching is most likely occurring in your forearm somewhere. you are just feeling it in your wrist.
Could also be a back problem. When I had a herniated disc, half of my left foot was totally numb for to weeks. Just saying... This is probably unrelated but my advice would be to go see a physician asap cause it might be nothing or it might be serious.

Im willing to be this is the issue. I've had back pain pretty much steadily for about 10-15 years now. And of course I'm the type of person who hates going to the doc unless I absolutely have to. I'll try some stretches for a little and see if it helps. I do finally have medical benies so I should just go get checked up anyway.
