Mortiis (real name: Håvard Ellefsen) is the last confirmed guest for the "A Blaze In The Northern Sky - Spreading The Hatred", a unique seminar-meets-radio show moderated by Patrizia Mazzuoccolo (pictured below; also known as Miss Pee) which will explore and promote the Norwegian black metal scene and its country through audio clips of bands, interviews with musicians and special guests, and an audience question-and-answer session.

Mortiis is the man that started off as the bassist in symphonic black metal band EMPEROR and then went on to forge a solo career away from the black metal scene. His insightful experience, witty and outspoken attitude will render his contribution to this seminar invaluable.

The lecture will be held at Scandinavia House (58 Park Avenue) in New York City on Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m.

Other special guests:

* Harald Fossberg, first singer in TURBONEGRO and a veteran of the punk and metal scene in Norway. Currently works as the main rock / metal entertainment journalist for Norwegian broadsheet Aftenposten;

* Nocturno Culto, guitarist, bassist, songwriter half of legendary Oslo-based band DARKTHRONE;

* Gaahl, ex-GORGOROTH vocalist now performing with folk-inspired crew WARDRUNA and recently recruited by the Bergen Theatre Den Nationale Scene for the role of Heimdal in the play "Svartediket" which has caused more controversy in Norway.

I thought at least you, Greg, and Eric would like to know about this.

Of corpse. In this northern neck of the woods, you don't get anyone more tr00 kvlt than me and the other two you mentioned. We are the raw essence of pure black evil in man.
However, it'd be more fitting if you used our black metal/stage names.

:lol:

Damn, it'd be fun to go to this. I was privileged to see Mortiis' first-ever solo performance in the States waybackwhen (they were supporting Christian Death).... and privileged to meet him, as my friends' band Godhead were sharing a dressing room with Mortiis.
Very cool chap and a truly unique performance; we were mesmerized.

In fairness to Mortiis, BTW -- who did NOT have a cameo in the movie Legend -- it was a pretty "vicious" game of got-yer-nose. :lol:
