The state of Colorado has been declared a disaster area. There are about 8 wildfires.
One of them, the "Hayman Fire", has burned over 60,000 (and counting) acres in 24 hours. The inside of the store where I work smelled like a campfire and the store is not even close to where the fires are. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, but the smoke blocked it out. I saw ash fall to the parking lot.
Check out these stats:

I'm very sorry to hear that Thra:rofl:ude. I myself lived in Wyoming during the nasty fire in yellowstone and even though the small town I was living in at the time is over 150 miles away we received numerous ash clouds and dirty rain for months because of it. My allergies where the worst they have ever been! Hope your not allegic to ash too.

Cheerz,

Yeah, saw that on the news last night. That sucks ass. We've had a few so far now, but nothing to that extent. And nothing so close to the city either. I saw last night they got some rain, but I haven't checked today, maybe it helped. :)

It's still burning. The largest fire, Hayman, was caused by some stupid fuck who made an unattended illegal campfire.

Today some lady told me that they should name the fires after the people who start them. I think they should do that and include their address.

Yeah the ones around here were illegal campfires, so they shut down all the forests for the summer, now everyone who ISN'T a stupid fuck is screwed out of having a good time in something other than 110 degrees. I don't know how they name them, but the "Tram" fire sounded pretty gay to me. Supposedly IF they can catch the person who started it, they prosecute, but I've never heard of any such trial (except for the retard in Phoenix who got ratted out by his best friend). My husband thinks they should tank all the flood waters from the midwest and use them on the fires. Sounds good to me, how come no one else thought of it yet???

didn't someone start a wildfire and then kill himself when he saw what he did?
yeah there was a big fire in Dallas and we had a blanket of what I thought was just stinky fog until I found out what had happened. and then there were some fires in mexico and the moon had an orange hue for a while and it wasn't very safe to be outside.
Good luck and stay safe bro

Thanks, dude. They are tracking down the dumb fuck who started the 'Hayman Fire'. A park ranger or someone got the fire-starter's license plate number, and they found the vehicle.

Jono, I think I heard of that happening...was it last year during wildfire season? I thought it was pretty recent.

Thra:rofl:ude, did they shut down all the parks? That's what they did here. There was one near Prescott that was like 1400 acres, which is really nothing compared to other fires, but everyone panicked because it got close to homes. Burned a few too I think. I'm glad someone spotted the guy who did it, usually the person is long gone by the time the fire department even knows there's a problem. Is it any better now? They didn't say anything about it on the news last night because a cop died yesterday and that took up quite a bit of news time (cause they're blaming Ford and it's gettin' pretty ugly).

I believe they just have fire bans everywhere. I was saying they should just shut down every park. It hasn't rained here for a long time.
It's not really getting better. The front page of the Rocky Mountian News said the Hayman Fire might not be contained for 3 fucking months!
It's burned about 100,000 acres!
The Hayman Fire is the number one priority for the firefighters in the country.
This is from 9 News:
Two Airforce Reserve C-130 transport planes from Charlotte, North Carolina have landed at Petersen Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
They will join two other C-130s that are already stationed at Petersen.
All four have been specially outfitted to carry about 3,000 gallons of slurry each. We are still waiting for an official announcement from the Pentagon that the planes will be used at the Hayman fire.
so that should help.:)

How did Ford kill a cop?

Well, cops use Crown Victorias. There seems to be a problem where if a Crown Vic gets rear-ended, the car explodes because of a problem with the gas tank. So instead of ending up with a bad back, they die. This is the second cop here to have this happen. The first one (over a year ago) actually lived through it, and has had over 30 operations and still needs like 20 more (he's on the news a lot). And then the one yesterday died. And they (the news) said that there's a lawyer (somewhere, didn't catch where) with a lawsuit pending against Ford for 3 other cops that this happened to, something about the Crown Vics need to be recalled and do something with the gas tank, but Ford hasn't done it yet.

Brat- Is there any way you can send me a link to this story? I have a friend that works for Ford, and before I blast him for being a cop killer I want to get my facts straight....

The old Ford Mustangs did the same thing. I'm not sure what year, maybe '64.5, but they blew up for the same reason and Ford STILL hasn't recalled those cars. I saw that on a news story once.

Too bad cops can't drive Hondas. There'd be no worries then.
American made cars (or anything for that matter) SUCK ASS.

Did you ever see that movie "Top Secret" with Val Kilmer. The bad guys are chasing him, then they make a sudden turn and barely tap the back of a Ford Pinto. They hit it so lightly that it goes, "Ding!"
And then it blows up!

Do you remember the formula from Fight Club?

A= The number of cars in the field
B= Probable rate of failure
C= The average cost of an out of court settlement

AxBxC=X

If X is less than the cost of a total recall, they don't do it.

I wonder if there's any truth to that?

It's just best to buy a Japanese car, then you NEVER have to worry about it breaking down, unless you neglect it

The Democrats are mad because Gov. Bill Owens said, "Colorado is on fire," and it was on TV across the nation. The Democrats are crying because now Colorado won't get any tourists.

Thra:rofl:ude doesn't give a fuck. If you wan't to come visit Colorado, don't worry though. You won't burn to death I promise.
