O/T: Who is shelling out some $$$$ for the Led Zeppelin live sets tomorrow???

If you're a Zep fan, these are a must-get. I picked them up this morning and listened to/watched a couple of songs and the sound/video quality is pretty damn good.

The song selection is pretty decent, there's not a whole lot of overlap between the cds and dvds. I watched the Moby Dick clip and John Bonham is freakin amazing. They've got the cameras up close on him the whole time he's doing the solo and there's times it looks like they put the video in fast forward, he's playing so fast.

Then just when I about got done wiping the drool from my face and closing my dropped jaw, he drops the sticks and starts playing with his bare hands. Unbelievable. Can't wait till I get to watch the whole thing-the dvd is about 5 and 1/2 hours long spread out from 1970-1979

Unfortunately, I've got lots of diapers to buy before shelling out big bucks to move across the country, so I won't be picking this up anytime soon. :waah:

But it's safe to say that without Jimmy Page, rock'n'roll and metal as we know it would not exist, so I will definately be checking this out sometime in the future.

I love Zep but I had so much of my fill of them back in the day I don't know if I will ever listen to them by choice again. Its that way for me with a lot of classic rock, The Doors, the Who, Stones, CCR, man I just got ultra burned out on that shit.

hey td,i saw advertised today a 2 dvd set package + a 3cd didipak called how the west was one,is this the one u were talking about?

the 2 set dvd is priced at 44.95 which is very cheap and the cd pack is 34.95

yeah the price diff is just the ratio to the american dollar, standard price of a cd here is 25 to 30 bucks, whats a cd worth in the states about 15 bucks?

usually a single dvd is worth bout 30 bucks so 2 set for 45 here in aus is pretty good value.

I'm more interested in the Earl's Court DVD, but I'll end up getting both. I hope that one day a DVD from the '77 tour'll be released. I would love to see a quality live version of Achilles Last Stand!
