The show was decent/good.

They practically played the whole Death Magnetic album mixed with some trendy black album songs, and a couple metal anthems like Fight fire with Fire, Whiplash, Stone cold crazy, Seek and destroy, One, Master of PUppets, and For whom the bell tolls. The boring songs they played were enter sandman, Nothing else matters, sad but true, Fuel, and Unforgiven. Lars completely fucked the Unforgiven up and changed the beat completely. Seems his bass drum is so loud at time is just drowns out the music and all I hear is his loose footwork. They made a few mistakes, but nothing too crucial besides Lars. When it comes to the Death Magnetic stuff I like most of it, but Im not ape about it like the old metal anthems. They love showing off that album live, they play too many songs off of it.
They also put on a huge laser/fire show that is cool for visuals and shit, goes along with the songs. It was a packed steamy wild show, lots of beers spills everywhere. I was pissed off nothing was played off of Justice besides One, or Ride the lightning. I enjoyed their performance show better when I was in Columbus, they played more of their metal anthems. Since I was down south this time they were playing more of their load/black album radio songs than their old metal anthems. It's just nuts how they attract so many damn people, it's hard to enjoy the show sometimes because you can't get anywhere near them unless your some kind of Met club member. Anyways it's still a cool show to see, I'm hoping they start writing to make another album but even better than Death Magnetic before their time is gone.

Nice... was it in the round or traditionally staged? It was in the round earlier in the year in Glasgow, and while I enjoyed it it wasn't as cool as I had expected... Although they did do trapped Under Ice for only the third time ever and the first time in about 20 years, which was cool to be at :)

Yeah, right... I found it really weird seeing a gig like that. Like there were long periods of time where you'd see nothing but Lar's ass, then James would be there for half a song, then nothing again... also I don't think standing 100 metres apart unable to see each other helps their tightness much to be honest...
