Off Topic: Burning Bootable cds in OSX

I ripped a few dvds on mactheripper and I was wondering what program I can use to burn bootable dvds? Im on a macbook with osx 10.4.7. I was told you can drag and drop files onto the "blank dvd" icon on the deskstop but wasnt sure if there was a bootable option or something. I probably have to buy some burning software..damn.

Normally if you want burn a bootable disk you got a iso image of the disk you want to burn...
OS X should be able to burn iso images... google should clarify

I know there's a program called BurnX that's freeware. Never used it but it gets good reviews.
