Off Topic: I switched to Linux

I just made a nice discovery so to say. Switched from Windows to Linux. You know what? It's amazing! I forgot what mean hanged up PC, everything works just perfectly. I always can control my devices i.e. CD-Drive, HDDs, video and sound no matter the process! Everything looks so easy and controlable!! I am amazed. I still have WIN98 on my Laptop but I think I am about to get rid of it completely/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif What do you guys think of LINUX?
P.S. Mine is SUSE 9.0

Ive tried linux on the computers at college. Its way way way more reliable than windows and to be honest i really dont know why i dont have it. I get mixed opinions of it though, some say its brilliant, some say its awful. I dont know whether to get it or not because i do a lot of gaming etc... and i dont know whether it will work on it, plus other applications such as messenger progs etc..

There are messengers on linux (kopete is one), but not so many games.

never as much as window$. Try to delete a config file under a "running" windows system....it'll crash so hard that you'll have to throw the whole computer to the junk.

I'm running Mandrake Linux 9.1 now.. and Win2k Pro.. I'm just learning how to use this damn thing, having a lot of problems with certain things, because i dont know many commands or how to do shit.. but its fun so far..

Linux is great. If you want power over your machine. For simplicity I go with XP for the gaming and stuff like that. But it's alot of fun learning and using linux. A bit tricky sometimes too hehe..

Windows is full of bugs, and its a pile of shite thats copied from other people but i still use it. I would use linux but no games work on it, all the latest games in the market are designed for windows

Linux is much better than window$ because it gives much more freedom.
All the office software is there. I don't use window$ since 5 years by now.
There is not much need anymore to know the command line to use linux now.
Only for a couple of things like compiling media-players to watch encripted DVDs and other stuff like that.

Indeed there are not many 3D games under linux. There are a couple of cool ones like Tuxracer and FlightGears (a flight simulator), but not all graphic card drivers support 3D acceleration under linux.
