I have brought this up before, but it has been a while. I threw in a 38 Special CD today and again was amazed at how well Barnes sings. He is so smooth and effortless, I think I can imitate him while strumming on an acoustic...... BZZZZTT !!! wrong answer. This guy secretely hides a great non-falsetto range that is basically amazing. Great vocalist.

They were playing Hold On Loosely during yesterday's NASCAR race and I was reminded just how great .38 Special was for a while there in the early 80s. Their singer is smooth as silk and their guitar players wrote some memorable hooks.

The singers that I think are under-rated are Jon Oliva, Graham Bonnet, and John Arch. Not that they are under-rated by their fans, but so many people have adverse reactions to their styles. I find them to be three of the most unique singers in rock and roll. That is part of their appeal to me. But what do I know? I liked the singer from The Darkness debut!:loco:

I think Blackie Lawless is underrated. He kind of dissapears behind his band that I don´t like too much. But as a singer I think he´s really cool. Ever heard WASP:s version of Easy Living. Mind blowing.

Lawless got the berfect voice for heavy metal.
And i think he sing wery good balads too like Grimson Idol.

It's been a long time since I stopped being a fan, but I think Paul Stanley is an incredibly good singer. His performance on Alive II is just blistering.
