Sam & Max Live!
LucasArts has a sequel to its classic adventure coming.

August 27, 2002 - In a move likely to warm the hearts of adventure fans past, LucasArts has announced the development of a sequel to the classic Sam & Max Hit The Road. The new game will ship for an unspecified platform or platforms in the first quarter of 2004.
Originally released for the PC in 1993, the graphical adventure adaptation of Steve Purcell's Sam & Max Freelance Police comic gained a massive cult following with its innovative puzzles, witty dialogue, bizarre sense of humor, and the innate coolness of featuring a naked rabbit-being as co-star opposite a talking gumshoe dog. The sequel, directed by Michael Stemmle (who co-directed the original game), will hopefully live up to its towering legacy.

"Sam & Max Hit the Road is a classic and as close to being a signature game as any LucasArts has ever done," says Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts. "The Sam & Max sequel, much like the recently announced Full Throttle II, perfectly complements LucasArts' renowned adventure game legacy and lends further support to the company's commitment to investing in and developing more of our original properties."

We'll have more on Sam & Max at the earliest available opportunity.

Lucas is also currently making a sequel to another great adventure game...
