Can't you get an RE-201 for a bit cheaper than that? I thought the main difference was just the standby switch thingy. Did the 200's sound better?

i dont know to be honest. I have no idea if that is the appropriate price. Ebay would suggest its a bit below average.

Most of the completed ebay listings I've seen have been closer to 5 or 600. Check around a little, cuz I don't know if the 200 is more prized than the 201, and you'd want to make sure the tape and heads are in good shape. I'd imagine there's someone around here who knows more about them than me.

they are pretty bad ass, although it's one of those things I wouldn't spend $750 on unless I had tons of leftover money and my mics, pres, eq's and converters were all up to par.
