Looks like Milwaukee Metalfest is BACK!!
(Can't wait for the upcoming excuse why it had to be canceled )

Open Grave Records has announced a partnership with the long-running Milwaukee Metalfest, which is being held this year at the Waukesha Expo Center in Waukesha, WI on May 11-12.

As well as being a sponsor, Open Grave will have its own stage at the festival, which will feature three artists from the label's roster:

* Indiana's NECRODEMON will bring its icy cold version of black/death metal in support of its third album, "Ice Fields of Hyperion". The CD was given a worldwide release via Open Grave in late 2006, and has been met with rave reviews.

* Allentown, Pennsylvania's DEMON DOG SPERM will introduce to the masses their brand of chaotic stoner metal. The band's debut album is scheduled for release on June 26.

* Dallas, Texas' NO SOULS LOST will bring the pain with its no-holds-barred brutal death metal attack. Open Grave and NO SOULS LOST are currently in negotiations for the release of the band's full-length album "Eulogy of Genocide", which the group self-released in 2006.

At least last time when he canceled, he at least had Macabre, Malevolent Creation, and Necrophagist confirmed.

Demon Dog Sperm has not been the same since their demo days.
It's a sad tale really. I really thought they were going to be the next "IT" band.

I think this says enough:

Very classy fest indeed!

Ugh... you should see some of the porn stars they get.
Not exactly the "A" list of the Adult Entertainment industry.

Usually, the wrestlers are washed up 70's stars who reside in the Milwaukee Area (Mad Dog and Butcher Vaschon, The Crusher, Dick The Bruiser, etc).

I saw that article this morning as well and couldn't believe that Koshick is trying to make another go at this dead horse. Any inkling of faith people had in this fest is long gone (both artists and metal fans). I'm with the rest of you guys...stand by for the inevitable cancellation announcement.

actually, Demon Dog Sperm sort of sounds pretty cool... they call it "chaotic stoner metal"... that sort of sounds like what Confessor plays. ;)

I will put money down saying that Powerfest will take away from his fest and move it to summer again and say Ozzfest is taking the people from his fest and then in fall it will be ProgPower.

As much as I would love to see his fest get some great bands....it wont happen....he has screwed to many bands over.

I really cant see him getting a name band this year. I was unfortunatly at the last one they had a few years back and it was so horrible. I feel asleep for a few hours like most of the people in the crowd. Things were so cramped. They had the main room that was basically an old movie theater and the outside stages that got closed down earlier and then they had to move bands to the inside stages basically pushing all the time slots wa out of whack. Out of all the bands that played on Friday...the only day I was going, Macabre was the only worth while band playing. I got there at noon and was there till 11 PM for one band that ended up getting bumped back till saturday...so basically I sat there for nothing...the vendors had nothing. It was a long bitter ride home vowing never to go to another Milwaukee Metalfest. The only way I would go is if they got a really good band or two...safe to say I wont have to worry about going.

You must have been desperate for decent live metal if you waited all the way until 11PM just to see Macabre!!! I mean, I love MACABRE and all, but damn......
