It will be the weekend before ProgPower USA, so no competition there (other than expenses). Certainly not a competition by musical taste. This will be the lighter and traditional side of prog-rock.

I missed Arena the last time they came to the US, so I don't want to miss them again. Saw Cryptic Vision many years ago at Calprog and these guys stole the show. A very talented grow of songwriters and musicians. I'd also like to see Nightingale again. I saw them at PP in 2001 but it was a pretty sad static performance. Here's hoping they bring their "A" game this time.

Based on their means of funding, this festival may never happen. But I for one welcome it and will gladly sign-up on kickstarter to help make it happen.

I live roughly an hour from Canton, and although I'm not much into prog rock (Persephone's Dream is the only band I'd be dying to see), I'm tempted to go. The ticketing system appears to be needlessly complicated, and expensive if I'm reading it right ($135 for the main fest, for mostly unknown bands, and that's with no sampler, no program, no nothing?). Hopefully they'll add the possibility of buying individual-day tickets, as I really wouldn't have a reason to go on the second day.

I don't see a schedule yet for the festival, so I don't know who is playing when. As for the bands, there are only two I haven't heard of. (After The Fall I saw opening for the Flower Kings about a decade ago. Cryptic Vision I saw at RoSFest.)

I'm probably not going because it conflicts with ProgDay, which is easier for me to bring the whole family to.

heh, they're doing a ProgFest the same weekend as another ProgFest? weird. :P

Yeah, a lot of people think so. The OhioProg people claim that there wasn't another time to do it, but considering they made the announcement before a venue was nailed down, it leaves some scratching their heads.

There are some good bands there, even if a couple of them are tribute bands. In some cases, even better than the real thing. Not like Marillion plays much of their old Fish era stuff, when that's really all I want to hear.

Considering it. Can manage free room and board in Canton and Allegient (sp) usually have dirt cheap flights from Clearwater. FM, Arena, Nightingale are good draws as well as Script.... with the one and only Mickey Pointer....

If I can get dtfanatic to go I'll even give him a tour of the Football Hall of Fame perhaps.....
