I don't mean Joe Meek the brand, I mean Joe Meek the producer/engineer. (which I know is supposed to correlate but anyway)
Anyway, tube mic pre's that run on any kind of high voltage are fucking expencive. Is it possible and practical to run a vox track already recorded (or not) through a tube amp to get an old tube driven mic pre sound? (I have a peavey classic 30 and soon hopefully an orange tiny terror)
Like reamping? Maybe out the fx loop like you would to an impulse?
I'm just throwing this out there really. Anybody ever tried this?
I'm a big fan of emulating old sounds.
