I'm not being a dick or accusing you guys of anything but I was wondering why album release date is when it is.

I assume the album is all done with in terms of audio because you played it at Download, so is it your choice as the band or earache's choice as the company for the release date. Are the albums still being designed and printed? Is it better fiscally for it to be released in September? Or is it just a date that you guys like the sound of?

Matt did state that they had something cool in mind for the promotional campaign so maybe that has something to do with it - aside from that, it's probably just a more fitting date in terms of finances, pressing, shipping and release schedules (to my knowledge, some albums will be pushed back to meet a date that sees releases from a lot of other acts - sort of a competitive thing).

Anyway, I'm certain that it's mostly down to the label rather than the band.

What Dave said. I DO wanna see this "unique" marketing strategy though. I'm intruiged.

And while we're on the topic of asking Matt/Ol questions, where does the name Five Serpent's Teeth come from? Who was right?! Me or the other guy?

i agree. especially since i am a student Music Management, i'm interested in their way to promote this album.

about the title: some interviewer asked Ol what the meaning behind the title was, and he said that it was Matt's thing and that he didn't want that the meaning could be find easily on the internet, so don't expect Matt to come here and say what the meaning behind the title is.

Ol said in that interview though that the idea came from a book that Matt has read. so i think that the other theory, the one about Demolished Man (?), was right.

I asked ol this on formspring and he said,
"To get artwork the best it can be and to promote the hell out of it around the world"

If it was released when planned, no one would know about it, the schedule was far too tight to get everything done, press, video, promo campaign...

and since we're seriously bloody proud of this one we want people to KNOW about it and WANT it. plus the artwork isnt ready yet.

september it will be, we have IDEAS for a cool promo thing we want to start doing so hopefully we can make use of the time properly and do it. But the main thing is getting out awareness of the album as far as we can so people can discover evile for the first time, we want people to know who we are mofos!

So excited for this, just wish I could have it now

Who are you again?

Sounds like it'll be something special anyway. Looking forward to Thursday even more now.
